With Deisel, the Diesel brand makes fun of the fakes: the founder of the brand, Renzo Rosso, decided to test the market, opening a small shop in the Chinatown district of New York, where apparently they were selling fake jeans and clothing, in clear counterfeiting of the best known Diesel brand.
In reality, the store and above all the goods sold were produced by Diesel itself with a sort of limited edition.
Some consumers have perceived equality, others less.
This was decidedly a sure communication success way, of making fun of and at the same time taking a stand on the age-old issue of fakes. So many companies have to fight and defend each year their rights.
