Counterfeiting steals one point of italian PIL: we have to difend patents and trademarks

Counterfeiting generates a turnover of around 6.5 billion euro annually. The damage affects proportionally the state coffers.

This raises the need to better protect the industry that safeguards the industrial, as well as consumers, often in disarray in a thriving market of goods often from China, passed off as originals, but counterfeited.

Despite the economic crisis, from 2013 to today the filing of trademarks and patents, both in Italy and in Europe, has continued to grow. This particular aspect bodes well for the future. And 'no doubt, however, that companies should be encouraged to record even more. Recording and reporting of false is the only way we have to discourage counterfeiting.
