The song "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin is not plagiarism. This was established by the San Francisco Court of Appeal, confirming the first instance judgment, which had already said that the well-known song was not a work of plagiarism with respect to Spirit's song "Taurus".
In fact, at first instance the applicants had failed to demonstrate that some elements of the passage were "intrinsically similar" to the other, beyond two minutes. This position was also confirmed by the Court of Appeal, thus closing a bloody judicial battle.
