According to the "Global Innovation Index" presented in Geneva by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Switzerland is the number one country in the world in terms of innovation for the eighth consecutive year.
In the ranking the top ten countries are almost all European. Switzerland precedes the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain and Singapore. Sixth the United States, ahead of Finland, Denmark, Germany and Ireland.
Switzerland is a leader in many intellectual property indicators and is the world's No. 1 in terms of research funding. Innovation for green technologies has had a considerable impact on evaluation.
