Rights of the person concerned: under the terms of Article No. 7 of the law governing the protection of personal information (Legislative Decree No. 196/2003), the people to whom the personal information refers have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence (or lack of it) of the information, to be informed of the exact content and origin of the information, to verify whether it is correct or to ask for the amendment, update or correction of the said information, to ask for it to be cancelled, converted into an anonymous format or to block information that has been used in violation of the law, and to oppose the treatment of that information for legitimate reasons.
